Anki is essential for linking clinical vignettes to underlying pathological mechanisms. It helps you associate symptoms with cellular changes.
Pathology cards can become very dense. Similar sounding diseases can cause interference (confusion).
Penziv's "Topic Interaction Matrix" (coming soon) and deck analysis can help you identify if you are constantly confusing two similar pathologies, allowing you to create specific comparison cards.
Pathoma is an excellent resource, and the associated Anki decks (like Duke or AnKing) are highly effective. Most students find it sufficient when combined with a question bank.
